Frequently asked questions

How long does Instagram take to send the file?
If you select only “Followers and following”, it usually takes a few minutes. Full account downloads with photos and videos can take hours or even a couple of days.
Where do I find the download link?
Instagram sends an email and a notification. You can also go back to Accounts Center → Your information and permissions → Download your information, where the file is listed under “Current activity” for a few days.
The download asks for my password — is that normal?
Yes. When you download the file from Instagram's own site, Instagram asks you to confirm your password. That is Instagram, not us. Never type your Instagram password on any other website.
I chose HTML by mistake. Do I need to download again?
No, the checker understands both JSON and HTML files.
